Briefs that arrive already specified.

For labs, pilot kitchens, factories and ingredient suppliers. Work reaches you with the recipe settled, the rules checked and the cost agreed. That is very different from a cold enquiry.

Who we qualify

Four kinds of partner.

Qualification is per category and per capability. A facility is admitted for the things it can genuinely do, not in general.

01

Laboratories — accreditation + scope

Accredited testing across nutrition, microbiology, safety, shelf-life or sensory. NABL accreditation is required for the panels that mandate it. We send defined panels with a specification attached, not open-ended requests.

02

Pilot facilities — batch range + records

Kitchens and pilot plants that can make a first physical version at sensible scale and document what actually happened, including the deviations.

03

Contract manufacturers — capability + MOQ + QMS

Plants with real capability in one or more of our six categories, honest MOQs and a quality system that holds a specification batch after batch.

04

Ingredient suppliers — docs + specs + pricing

Actives, systems and commodities with documentation, permitted-level clarity and current pricing we can model against while a recipe is still being designed.

What you get

Four things a typical enquiry does not come with.

01

Briefs that are already specified

The recipe is settled, the rules are checked and the process is written down. You quote on a defined job instead of guessing from a phone call — not “can you make something like this?”

02

Buyers who already know their numbers

The brand already knows its costs, its target price and its margin. You talk about whether it can be made, not about budget three weeks in.

03

Work invoiced at cost

Your commercial relationship with the brand stays yours, at your rates. Charges are passed through as you invoice them — no renegotiating your rates through an intermediary.

04

Repeat flow, not one-off leads

An approved facility stays in the routing for its categories. Once a product is in production with you, ongoing Build & Care work keeps it there. This is not a directory you pay to appear in.

What we ask

Have these ready before you apply.

The same five checks every facility goes through, plus one thing we ask to see. Nothing unusual — it is what any serious buyer would ask for.

01

Capability evidence

Your equipment, the processes you run and the formats you can genuinely make. Specific beats impressive.

02

Capacity and MOQ

Typical and minimum batch sizes, throughput and realistic lead times. Honest numbers save everyone a month.

03

Licences and certification

Current FSSAI licence, category-specific certifications and any third-party audit status, with expiry dates.

04

Quality system

How you control incoming, in-process and finished goods, what you record, and what happens when something is out of spec.

05

Commercial terms

Payment terms, lead times and how you handle a batch that fails. The last one matters most.

06

A reference build

One product you have made end to end that you are willing to talk through technically. No brand names required.

Missing one of these does not disqualify you — it just means we cannot route work to you for that capability until it is in place. Tell us what you have and we will tell you where you stand.

How qualification runs

Four steps, and a real answer either way.

01

Apply · same week

Six fields below. A technical person reads it — specifics about capability travel much further than a company deck.

02

Technical review · 1–2 weeks

We match what you have described against the categories we hold and the gaps we currently have. You get a straight answer.

03

Verification · 2–4 weeks

Documents checked, certifications verified against expiry, and a facility conversation or visit depending on the capability.

04

Qualified · ongoing

You are entered against specific categories and capabilities, and start receiving specified briefs as they come up.

If a category is not a fit, we say so and tell you why. A clear no is worth more to you than being left on a list.

Straight answer

What this is, and what it is not.

A paid directory listingQualification against a category, at no cost to you

Tell us what you can make.

Six fields. A technical person reads every application, and you will hear back either way.

Categories you can hold — select all that apply

We reply either way, usually within a week. Nothing you send is shared outside the qualification team.

Already working with a Bettrlabs brand and want to formalise it? Say so in the last field and we will pick it up from there. For anything else, Contact is the right door.

We would rather qualify you properly than list you quickly.

It takes longer. It also means the work that reaches you is work you can actually take.
